Ok today’s Thursday Playlist challenge is “Viewer’s Choice” which gives me an awesome reason to push out some more Christian tunes.  Open your mind and give them a chance.

Don’t forget to head over to Pavement Runner’s blog to check out all the other participant playlists!

Playlist Thursday Rules / Format
Something Old: Songs that are at least 5 years old. (I know that isn’t too long to be considered old, but music turnover happens quickly.)

Something Current: Songs that have been released within the past year.Something to Consider: This is the wild card category. Feel free to list any song: old, current, guilty pleasure, underground, whatever.
Something Old
Artist:  Casting Crowns
Title:  What the World Needs (The Altar and the Door – Aug. 28, 2007)
Side Note:  I really like everything about this song from the words to the tempo.  I exceptionally like the Lead & Base guitar riffs used.
Quotable: “This world doesn’t need my tie, my hoodie My denomination or my translation of the bible They just need Jesus”

Something Current

Artist: Toby Mac
Title:  Me Without You (Eye On It – Aug. 24, 2012)
Side Note: Brand new album from Toby Mac and like always is excellent.
Quotable: I’d be packing my bags when I need to stay
I’d be chasing every breeze that blows my way
I’d be building my kingdom just to watch it fade away

Something to Consider

Artist:  Kirk Franklin
Title:  He Reigns (The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin – Feb. 19, 2002)
Side Note:  Truth be known I have liked this song ever since my son’s drama team did a performance to it in church about a month again.  But I am a sucker for anything that has that live “Brass” sound.
Quotable: “Our God Is an awesome God he reigns from heaven above with wisdom, power and love our God is an awesome Our God”
